Robotic Finishing Cell
Designed and manufactured as a fully self contained freestanding finishing cell. This cell is very flexible because it can be operator loaded or even loaded by another robot as it also can be freely configured for any number of different finishing operations.
The cell pictured comprises of a welded steel chassis on adjustable anti vibration mountings with an attached safety cage and interlocked access door, vertical and horizontal infra-red light barriers protect to the operator work zone. Contained within the cell is a six axis robot fitted with a high speed machine spindle coupled to a dust extraction unit, a large rotary transfer table delivers parts to the robot for finishing.
The cell is quite capable of being configured to carry out many secondary operations such as plastic and metal welding, gluing and sealant laying, assembly and test, and many more and in this particular case drilling and machining of 84 holes into a thermoformed plastic mouldings, the moulding vary in size from 700 x 700 up to 1300 x 1000 machining is accomplished in less than 60 seconds.
